Choose your place of departure and final destination
For the sake of simplicity, the place of departure and final destination are taken to be the dispatch and receiving stations. The dispatch or receiving station is a sales service centre associated with your shipment's place of departure or place of receipt. The names of dispatch and destination stations outside Germany must be provided in the language of the relevant country.
Please provide the days of the week for your transport.
Choose the days of the week on which you would like your shipment to depart from the place of dispatch. Our connections run at weekly intervals on the indicated days.

The window refers to the end of assembly, i.e. the last day for delivering the shipment to the place of dispatch.

Dispatch address
The dispatch address is the location from which you want to send your freight. The destination address is the location to which you want to send your freight. Lorries collect freight at the dispatch address and deliver it to the destination address. These addresses do not have to be a freight station, a dispatch station or receiving station.

Our services

Shared logo for a stronger brand

The network „Zukunft Einzelwagenverkehr” was founded in May 2021, and 29 of the 150 rail freight operators in the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) have so far joined. These partners want to strengthen their cooperation and promote the network’s continued growth. An own logo will help create a brand for single wagon transport and also bring the partners closer together. The idea is to demonstrate their commitment to a common product.

Why is this information commitment-free?
DB Cargo's freight timetable is for information purposes only and is meant to serve as a guide for planning. The indicated times may change depending on the type of freight, service at the customer siding, available capacity and other external factors. The timetable is updated regularly as these conditions change. As a result, detailed information is sometimes unavailable for connections outside the current timetable.
What are the dispatch station & place of dispatch?

Why do I have to use the day of the week instead of a date when searching for connections?
The freight timetable lists connections that run at weekly intervals. As a result, connections are valid not only for a specific date but also for the corresponding weekly interval.
What is the end of assembly?
End of assembly is the latest point in time by which your shipment must be delivered to the place of dispatch. After the end of assembly, no more freight can be added to the relevant block of wagons. Please note that the end of assembly is not the same as the final departure time of the freight train.
What is the end of split-up?
The end of split-up is the point in time at which the shipment can be picked up at the place of receipt. Please note that the end of split-up is not the same as the actual arrival time.
How do I make a transport enquiry?
You can make a commitment-free transport enquiry for any connection. The connection data you select will be automatically included in your enquiry. Once you complete and submit an enquiry, a DB Cargo expert will contact you as soon as possible to offer services that suit your specific needs.

If you have been unable to find a suitable connection, you can still contact an expert at any time. This person will help you with your enquiry or assist you in finding a suitable connection.
How do you calculate the environmental footprint (CO2 emissions)?
By choosing rail, you can reduce your CO2e emissions by 80% compared to other methods of transporting freight.

The indicated emissions values for individual connections are calculated based on the relevant transport route, an average transport load of 100 tonnes and greenhouse gas emissions values for various modes of transport (in CO2e). The source for our emissions values is the German Environment Agency.

Note: CO2e (CO2 equivalent) is a unit of measurement which allows the effect of different greenhouse gases to be compared. To calculate emissions values, the German Environment Agency has converted the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) into their CO2 equivalents.
What is a line category?
The line category indicates the load capacity of the relevant rail infrastructure. Each category is assigned a line identifier (e.g. D4) and is used to determine load limits for freight wagons. If a given connection has line sections with different line categories, the lowest identifier is taken as the value.
What are services like on public holidays?
Please note that the connections indicated here may vary on public holidays as arrangements for these days are agreed following consultation with our customers.
I don't have a private siding. Can I make use of the rail network's advantages?
Yes. It would be our pleasure to organise the first and last mile service by lorry for you. This will also ensure you have one single contact person for all of our services.
